On the 8th of January, I changed host families. I am now living with the Van den Hove's.

I really loved my first family and I had a hard time leaving them. I knew that it wouldn't be a problem for me. I have always been able to adapt well. But it was still really sad to say goodbye.

My friend Alyssa came to this family first and it was really hard for her to get along with them. This worried me a little bit when I knew that I would be coming here next. I never doubted what Alyssa said but I think the problems were just a difference in personality. I know that there are some personality types that really just clash. I have the personality that gets along with anyone. If you think of a rock in a stream, the rock is stubborn and will sit there for a long time. Then there's the water. It forms around the rock and keeps on flowing. Eventually maybe the water can get the rock to move. I think that I am the water. No matter what gets in my way I will do my best to go around it.

I have not had a single problem with this family. They are wonderful. My host mom is quite a bit like my mom in the States. I have 5 host siblings. The first 4 have all gone on exchanges. Edwin went to New Zealand, Aude went to Washington, Aymeric went to San Fransisco, and Allissia is in Equador. I also have an 11 year old brother, Quentin. He is amazing! We play basketball and all sorts of stuff. I think he likes having someone around he can play with.

We have a dog and a cat. The dog's name is Soda and the cat's name is Whisky.

I believe I am really gonna enjoy staying with this family!
